About the Sparks Generator

Create dynamic welding spark and pyrotechnic effects with the FX Labs Spark Generator. This tool simulates the chaotic trajectories of hot metal sparks flying from a grinder, welder, or impact point, complete with gravity-affected arcs, glowing trails, and scattered ember particles. Control the amount and spread of spark streams, adjust trail length and gravity influence, and dial in the glow intensity and heat color to match any scenario. The chaos parameter introduces natural randomness to spark trajectories while the breaks control creates realistic gaps in spark trails where molten metal fragments separate. Set the emission width and direction to simulate sparks flying from a specific contact point, and add ambient dust particles for extra atmosphere. The ember system generates additional floating hot particles with independent size, thickness, drift, and heat controls that complement the main spark streams. Each render uses a deterministic seed, so you can lock down a look you like and reproduce it precisely or export multiple variations with different seeds. All effects render at up to 4K resolution with full transparency support, making them ready to composite over footage in After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or layer into Photoshop compositions. Ideal for action movie VFX, welding and metalwork promotional material, industrial photography enhancement, concert and event visuals, and game effect textures.

How to Use

1

Set Direction & Spread

Position the emission angle and cone width to control where sparks fly from and how wide they scatter.

2

Tune Trails & Gravity

Adjust trail length, gravity, and chaos to shape realistic spark trajectories and arcs.

3

Add Embers & Glow

Enable ember particles and dial in glow intensity and heat color for extra realism.

4

Export as PNG

Choose your resolution up to 4K with a transparent background and export the final render.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Spark Generator can produce welding sparks, grinder sparks, impact sparks, and pyrotechnic shower effects. Adjust the amount, spread, length, gravity, and chaos parameters to match different real-world spark scenarios from delicate metalwork to explosive impacts.

Yes. The Direction slider sets the primary emission angle in degrees (0-360), and the Emit Width control determines how wide the spray cone is. Combined with the Spread parameter, you can create anything from a tight focused jet to a wide fountain of sparks.

Embers are additional floating hot particles that appear alongside the main spark trails. They have independent controls for count, size, thickness, drift, and heat color. Embers add realism by simulating the smaller glowing fragments that linger in the air after the main sparks have traveled.

Yes. Set Background to "Transparent" in the Output section. The exported PNG will have only the glowing sparks and embers visible on a fully transparent background, ready to composite over footage or photographs in any editing application.

Spark effects can be exported at 720p, 1080p, 1440p, or 4K (3840x2160). Higher resolutions capture finer detail in the spark trails and glow effects. For compositing over HD or 4K footage, matching the export resolution to your project resolution produces the best results.

The Heat parameter controls the color temperature of the sparks along a thermal gradient. Lower values produce cooler, redder sparks like iron being worked at lower temperatures. Higher values shift toward bright orange and yellow-white, simulating extremely hot metal such as steel grinding or welding.

Yes. Every spark position, trajectory, and ember placement is determined by the seed value. Note down or copy the seed number along with your parameter settings, and you can regenerate the exact same spark effect at any time or on any device.

For welding sparks, set Direction to around 90 degrees (upward), use moderate Spread (0.5-0.7), high Heat (0.7-0.9), and enable Dust for ambient glow particles. Keep Gravity at 0.2-0.4 for natural arcing trajectories, and set Breaks to 0.2-0.4 for realistic trail fragmentation.
